It’s that time of year again. New Years Resolutions. Forget about hitting the gym or reading more books; we’re pledging to play even more video games. Last year gave us It Takes Two, Halo Infinite and Death Loop. This year, there are even more games to get ready for. So grab your accessories, pop on your headset, and get strapped in for 2022’s most anticipated games.
Stray
Imagine a mad-cap studio of designers made a game that merges the musical Cats with Cyberpunk 2077? There are neon-lit alleys to explore, an ancient mystery to unravel, and a city full of robots. Oh, and did we mention you’re a cat. BlueTwelve Studio’s Stray puts you in the paws of a stray cat to solve the city’s mysteries alongside your only friend – a flying drone.
Starfield
Over the years, Bethesda has given us ancient kingdoms and post-apocalyptic wastelands to explore. From Skyrim to Fallout 4, they’ve given us rich, open worlds where every choice we make changes the next. With Starfield, they’re taking us to space. Set 50 light-years away from our universe, you’ll navigate The Settled Systems as a space explorer following the events of a bloody war between two colonies. Just imagine the possibilities of Skyrim in space.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns
If Marvel Ultimate Alliance had been an add-on for the turn-based alien invasion series XCOM, Marvel’s Midnight Suns would’ve been the result. Based on Marvel’s classic 1990’s series Rise Of The Midnight Sons, you’ll play as a completely customisable superhero known as The Hunter to stop fictional terrorist organisation Hydra alongside members of the Avengers, X-Men and Runaways.
The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2
Breath Of The Wild is quite possibly the best Legend Of Zelda game ever made. So even though there’s next to nothing about it’s sequel, we’re still super excited for it. Nintendo are keeping their cards close to their chests, sharing only the information that the setting will include the skies above Hyrule to explore. In another year taken over by a pandemic, we need to escape into Link’s life for a little bit.
Forspoken
Ever wondered what it would be like to wake up in a fantasy world? How about having magical powers and a sentient bracelet? Forspoken lets you live out your dreams as Frey Holland, a young woman suddenly transported from New York City to Athia. We can’t wait to explore the open world of Athia in this narrative-driven adventure – it’s like a modern-day Wizard of Oz!
Elden Ring
If you’ve ever had to wait hours for your pizza to arrive at your door, you’ll know just how hungry anticipation makes you. The wait for Elden Ring is exactly that. And it’s almost here.
Made by the creators of the notoriously difficult Dark Souls games and set in a world imagined by Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin, Elden Ring tasks you with finding the Great Runes, restoring the Elden Ring and becoming the Elden Lord, all whilst facing the demigod offspring of Queen Marika the Eternal. Sounds easy? It won’t be, but we love a challenge.
Hogwarts Legacy
We solemnly swear we’re up to no good. Hogwarts Legacy has been teased for quite some time, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. If you’ve ever wanted to attend Hogwarts as your very own witch or wizard, now’s your chance. Set hundreds of years before Harry, Ron and Hermione ever graced the castle, you’ll experience life as a student in the 1800s mastering spells, brewing potions and taming fantastic beasts. Is there anything more we could ask for?
Gear up and get ready for this year’s most anticipated games by arming yourself with our PS5, XBOX Series X and XBOX One bundles now.
