Netflix Gaming: Just A Novelty?

Written by

Netflix is a powerhouse company that's been around since it was founded back in 1997, it was originally launched as a mail-based rental business for VHS tapes and DVD's before transitioning to being a streaming service in 2007. It was in 2013 that Netflix began development of their own original shows with the likes of Orange is the New Black and House of Cards but it wouldn't be until 2021 when they finally axed their DVD service that they expanded into the world of gaming.

In July 2021 Mike Verdu, a former executive from Electronic Arts and Facebook, joined the Netflix team as vice president of game development and in August 2021 Netflix launched their first trial into mobile games with a mobile game based on Stranger Things named Stranger Things 3: The Game.

TMNT: Shredders Revenge

Tomb Raider Reloaded

Highwater

Leo Legacy: Heroes Unboxed

Stranger Things Puzzle Tales
