The Games that Shaped Us (#4)

Written by

Each month, a different member of the team will sit down to tell us about the games that hold a special place in their heart. These are the games that shaped us, and this week it’s the turn of Business Development Manager Estelle . We sat down with her to discuss how she ended up in the gaming industry, even starring in some titles herself! Make sure you check out her IMDB page.

Name:

Estelle Ellis

Role in the company:

Business Development Manager

Preferred console/method of gaming:

Xbox One

First console/game you played:

Amstrad Asteroids!!!

Favourite game of all time:

Conker’s Bad Fur Day!

Least favourite game of all time:

Raving Rabbids…

Game you’re most looking forward to:

Sadly I don’t have time to game anymore… I'm not too much of hardened gamer. Having jobs where I have been so involved in their development, it’s taken the edge off for me.

Greatest Gaming Achievement:

I've been involved behind the scenes in some games you might know. Doing the Motion Capture for Joanna Dark, in Perfect Dark Zero, and doing the voice-overs for Krystal in StarFox Adventures, amongst a few other titles too.

Other i.e. anecdotes, stories, quips and memories:

Working at Rare Ltd. and taking part in developing all sorts of games (though my part was small!). Working with Grant Kirkhope, Gregg Mayles, Robin Beanland, Ben Cullum…the list is endless, as are the stories.Did you ever play any of the games mentioned above? Leave a comment telling us about your favourite games as a kid and join us on our trip to the days of gaming past!Stay tuned for more in our ‘The Games that Shaped Us’ series in October, and read the previous instalment while you wait. We'll also be bringing you some interviews with some of our friends and partners for an insight behind the scenes of games publishing and development.
